Ernest Hemingway, who lived in Havana in the 1930s, wrote: "My Mojito in La Bodeguita, My Daiquiri in El Floridita". Although touristy, the Bodeguita del Medio retains much of its former charm.

The famous bodeguita. Every tourist who's ever been to Havana has seen it
The entrance to the B del M is close to the Plaza de la Catédral
Traditional son fits well in these surroundings
There's almost always live music on the ground floor
Our Cuban friends found the writings on the wall not funny or typical, but just plain ugly
All the walls and pillars are covered with the signatures of patrons. Ours are on the blue pillar on the right  hand side, first floor
They didn't even want a tip. We had to force it on them. Unusual.
Being four dance teachers, we got this combo to play for us...

Such bliss, to dance with an experienced Cuban dancer like Daymara
...while we danced the salsa...
Rueda de Casino is SO much fun! You should try it!
...and a Rueda de Casino
Dame otra!
Enchufle!
La prima con l'hermana y la familia
Setenta!

We asked the waitress to join us in the picture because Steve liked her
On the roof of the Bodeguita
