From June 16-20, 1999 Stefan Rahm and Thomy Voirol travelled to Denmark for the 15th International Kite Fliers Meeting in Fanø.

This festival is the largest kite fliers meeting in the western hemisphere. As many as four thousand kiters and spectators gather on the enormous beach of this little holiday island and celebrate the elements.

We took the night train to Hamburg, where we stayed a few hours and then took on the very long and tiring trip by train through Denmark to Esbjerg. From there, the ferry took us to the island.

Most notable experiences without pictures are our trip to Esbjerg to experience the night life there and our deadly taxi ride through Denmark on the way back, due to a cancelled train connection.
