We had decided to prolong our stay for another three days to go back to
Santiago once more. We stayed in a private apartment on the 16th floor of the
Edificio Turquino with a gorgeous view of most of the city.

| We connected
again with Yurdania who'd stay with us the whole time |
| Typical Cuban
suburban housing. In other countries, you'd call it a slum |
| High traffic on
the Avenida Garzón |
| La Guágua (bus)
y el camión, the preferred Cuban means of transportation |
| A view of the
inner city and the bay |
| Enormous
waiting lines at the bus stop and the Hotel Santiago in the
background |
| Cubans are at
least as disciplined in queues as are the English |
| Avenida
Victoriano Garzón, passing in front of Turquino |

| Cockroach in
the bathroom. Once a week they smoke out the entire building with
diesel fumes |
